Thankfully, there’s a resource that’s sort of a Home Depot outlet in Orange County.Cal. Liquidation Center is a small operation that liquidates, overstock, shelf pulls, discontinued and customer return items, mostly from Home Depot but also from Lowes and Sears. You’ll find tools, lighting, home décor, wiring, smoke alarms, plumbing, faucets, towel bars, vanities and more all at 30%-80% off original retail.

Operated by 2 brothers…… So Cal Liquidators is a smaller operation. With only around 3000 square feet of warehouse, there’s a couple of guys, checking and repairing items and one of brothers (Edgar) up front. They are helpful, will answer questions and they have this great Home Depot app so they can scan anything in stock and give you retail vs their price….. The caveat here is that the warehouse is haphazardly organized. You have to take the time to look. But, there are good deals to be found for those with a sharp eye. Inventory varies, so visiting as often as needed is recommended. I spotted a lot of lighting fixtures the day I went in. A Thomasville antique bronze ceiling lighting fixture was $100 instead of $200. A Hampton Bay Shaker pendant light was just $20 instead of $39. A 3 light vanity lighting fixture by Perfect Home was $25 instead of $60. A Hampton Bay Altura ceiling fan was $135 instead of $200. A Progress Lighting Meadow Lark Collection bronze finish outdoor wall lamps was $45 instead of $150.

There was also a decent selection of bath and plumbing items. A An American Standard Cadet faucet was $50 instead of $70.  An American Standard 6 setting, handhreld shower head with 5’ flexible hose was $15 instead of $30. A Glacier Bay, pull out brush nickel kitchen faucet was $60 instead of $100 and a Glacier Bay Tub/ shower set in Mediterranean bronze was $110 instead of $220. Some basic bathroom vanities were here, Good for smaller bathrooms I really like the Valencia Collection vanity set, base cabinet, sink & mirror for $190. Original retail was $289. (But it’s now at Home Depot for $232). An Emerson, ¾ HP,  InSinkerator was here at $200 instead of $320 and a small free standing vanity was very mod and a great price at $90 (with a cosmetic flaw) or $140 (perfect). A Kidde Smoke Alarm was $18 instead of $37. If you buy an item and it doesn’t perform well or breaks you can return it for an in store credit, but no refund. So check items carefully. Another cool resource to help keep your home improvement budget down.
