Good Will Industries offers customized job training, employment placement and other services to people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience, or face employment challenges. (The key is to grab stuff before any bad weather hits.) With ever-changing vendors, it can be hit-or-miss in terms of children’s items, but on a cold or rainy day, what could be more fun than browsing the myriad offerings? Your bound to find something your household needs! If you have never used Greater New Haven’s Freecycle list, there’s no time like the present. Find happy homes for everything your children have outgrown, while having the chance to take home half-packs of diapers, baby coupons, toys, clothes, and more. / Remember to give before you get! Besides local tag sales (check Craigslist on Thursdays and Fridays in season), parents in the know will tell you that the best places to find gently used children’s items of all kinds are at the springtime fundraising tag sales at local preschools.
