Over the past several months, she's been busy reinventing the home she and her family moved into near Phoenix, Arizona. This week's project involved turning her old office space into a playroom for her three daighters. The white walls begged for pop of bright, fun color, but rather than paint, Jenny decided to dye three packages of Ikea's Ritva white curtain panels she already had on hand. ter testing a little bit of the dye in an inconspicuous spot in her fiberglass tub, Jenny decided to color her curtains in her bathtub, but you can also use a large plastic bin, or a top-loading washing machine, which is what I used to dye all the table linens for my wedding.2. Fill the tub, bin, or machine with hot water—enough to completely submerge the panels.3. Add the dye and ¼ cup salt. Put on your gloves, stir your concoction, and add the wet panels (or whatever cotton item you've decided to make over). Move the panels around in the water and let them soak for 30 minutes.4. Check the panels. If the color saturation is to your liking, rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. If the color isn't quite bright enough, let them soak longer.5. Run the curtains through the washing machine using the delicate cycle setting and cold water. Hang the curtains to dry.6. Iron the panels, then hang them from curtain rods. Here’s another bedroom design that I can include in my top 3 favourites. The combination between black and yellow is very modern, I like the separation of the wall in two colors and the use of wall-mounted pendant light on the glossy black wall. The rug is another great choice, the combination of those two colors applied in circles is perfect. A princess bedroom, where the bed is of course the focal point. Another interesting element is definitely the nature-inspired chandelier. Modern kitchen, yellow of course, with an interesting asymmetrical shape made such way to limit the cooking space so it doesn’t interact with the eating space. An interesting design for the cabinetry and quite functional at the same time. Pale yellow can make a really stunning transformation from a small living room into a much brighter and bigger one, and the use of big windows is also an important factor, because the natural light will reflect and magnify the yellow light inside the room.
