By adam   June 04, 2009 simple – keeps your seat clean easy to clean/ re-use keeps seat clean and dry if you already have a cover, you can’t snug down, but once you sit down it does not matter What do you normally do after you’ve spent the day riding in the mud, when you have no change of clothes, no towel to protect your car seat?  You know it is going to make a mess!  You know you really love getting those nice leather options you spent that extra money for filthy dirty with trail mud.  Well, how about keep a Save-a-Seat handy to prevent your car seats from getting down right dirty! The Save-a-Seat, another perfect and simple product.  Lately I’m in love with simplicity.  First the the ZeroGoo and now the Save-a-Seat.  Next thing you know I’ll be putting aside my Canfield F1 for a SWD 216. The Save-a-Seat is made from a water proof, anti-bacterial fabric that acts like a pull down blind for you window, except this protects your car seat. 

It is very easy to use.  You attach it to the top of the seat with a string that goes behind the headrest, pull out the protecting fabric, and then stop the roller from retracting by putting the Velcro piece of the roller on the Velcro piece of the fabric.  You can snug the seat cover down by attaching a Velcro pull on the back and pulling it through the seat crack and securing it with Velcro.  But really, you don’t even have to do that.  I have heated and sheep seat covers that cover the seat crack.  So I just sit down on the Save-a-Seat and it works.  It is so simple. The length and width of the Save-a-Seat worked fine on a couple different test car seats, ranging from my Scion seats to a GMC Yukon Denali.  The length of the cover also extends well down almost the the car floor in my Scion protecting the front of the seat from your filthy calves. Storage: The Save-a-Seat is small and easy to keep in your trunk with out taking up much space.  In fact way less space than a towel even.

The Save-a-Seat was rolled, was pulled and tugged on about a hundred times here in the office to see if it would wear out. The fabric material is tough and didn’t rip either with the couple of uses it got while testing. If you are thinking to yourself, ‘why not just use a towel, or bring a change of clothes to the trail on muddy days’, here are a couple reasons why the Save-a-Seat is a better solution.  The Save-a-Seat is water proof unlike a towel.  It is also much easier to clean.  If you have never had to deal with washing your towel after a muddy day, than you might not understand.  But it is a total pain and worse, you can get your washer all dirty as well.  The Save-a-Seat can be left out to dry, shake the dry dirt off, and than zipped back up.  So why not just bring a change of clothes.  Of course, it is what I normally do myself. Muddy conditions or none.  But having a Save-a-Seat in your car for the day you forget your change of clothes, your extra t-shirt or you need to give someone else a ride home who doesn’t have a fresh set, the Save-a-Seat will save your seat.
