Manville started the 40 lap feature in 11th position and had his car setup perfectly for the slick surface of the 3/8 mile oval.  Justin Wells of Aurora, MO started on the pole and withstood the challenges of Jesse Stovall of Billings, MO for the first half of the race.  Manville would break into the top five and set his sights on Wells.  Slide job after slide job between Wells and Manville, put on a show for the fans and Manville would claim the lead for good on lap 28.  Wells would settle for second.  Stovall, Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO and Tony Jackson Jr of Lebanon, MO rounded out the top five.
The next event for the MARS DIRTcar series will be on Friday August 12th and Saturday August 13th at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE. Tropical Storm Hermine put a damper on the kickoff of the IHRA Summit Pro-Am Tour last weekend at Carolina Dragway forcing the schedule to shift to a day later than scheduled. The Division 1, 2, and 9 racers waited out the rain and ran under sunny skies for the remainder of the triple-header event weekend. Chris Webb (Hot Rod), Glen Furguson (Quick Rod), Clayton Roberts (Top Dragster), Cale Pittman (Junior Beginner) and Kate Hall (Junior Advanced) doubled up and walked away with two Ironman trophies. Nelson, Casey and Hickey Claim Top Honors At JR Race Car Junior Team Finals Joshua Nelson (Beginners/Ben Bruce Team 2), Trace Casey (Intermediate/Pine Valley Team 1) and Sam Hickey (Masters/Little River Team 3) claimed main event championships at the JR Race Car IHRA Junior Team Finals hosted by Little River Raceway.
