A common refrain is that China has got rich off the United States.
Now some Chinese manufacturers are proving him right, and are making even more money from US citizens this election by producing Trump-themed merchandising. One of these companies is Qingdao Wellpaper Industrial Co, who said sales of its 'Dump with Trump' toilet paper have been rising since mid-February. So far the company has taken 50 orders, some for up to 5,000 rolls, for Trump toilet paper. “At the start, orders were for around 100 rolls a time, but now we’re getting orders for 5,000 rolls,” a saleswoman from the company told China Daily on Tuesday. Rolls sell for about $0.5 (£0.35) each, and buyers can choose from three Donald Trump facial expressions: smiling, pointing and pouting. Similar rolls, claimed to have been made in the US - or Mexico - can also be found on Amazon selling for 30 times as much.
