Tops Weight Loss Meeting Ideas

A hands-on, pounds-off approach to weight loss.® TOPS doesn't pay celebrities to endorse us, and we don't promise quick fixes or promote unrealistic images of the "perfect" body. Instead we focus on health. TOPS can't do the work for you. You only get out of TOPS what you put into it. We can't guarantee weight loss just by attending meetings, but we can offer support through each stage of the journey, including after you reach your goal weight. We're here for you! Are you ready to stop dieting and start making real changes? TOPS can help you reach your weight-loss goals by providing you with the tools, information, support, and accountability you need to be successful. After all, this has been a winning formula for TOPS members just like you over the last 60-some years. You choose to join (or start) a local chapter or become an online member. Weekly meetings provide a supportive, educational environment where people are encouraged and not judged. What's the meal plan?

TOPS does not sell foods, endorse products, or push a one-size fits all meal plan. We encourage you to choose foods you enjoy, in moderation, on the TOPS meal plan. The flexible guidelines help you control calories while eating real food that you make at home or order in a restaurant. What kinds of educational tools do you offer? TOPS offers a variety of educational resources and tools—most of which are available exclusively to members through our online store. See a sampling our of our most popular tools or check out our new book on Amazon. (The book is available at a significant discount from our website when you become a member.)I’m the program coordinator for my Tops club. I’m always looking for new programs to present. Can you give me a few fun ideas to take to one of my meetings? Also, do any of the web pages offer a print option or do I just cut and pasta? A. One area that people tend to struggle with when trying to lose weight is eating out. Maybe putting together a presentation on packing healthy lunches, or discussing ways to cut fat and calories from restaurant meals would be good.

Perhaps educating on creative ways to increase fruit and vegetable consumption while eating out would be useful (i.e. eggplant lasagna instead of noodles, chili over baked potato, or fresh fruit salsa over meat, etc.). Try offering a smoothie class. Teach everyone how to make a healthy smoothie and how this fits into their daily caloric totals. Possibly refresh on healthy ways to prepare food. Get creative and have fun! Browse our website to see what sparks your interest and what might be helpful to your group.

Weight Loss Personal Trainer Denver "I moved from: Can I do it?
Christmas Lights For DormsWill I do it? Should I do it, to: It is done!" Monica T. - Lost 200.25 lb. - 2015 International Queen

Height: 5' 7½" Achievement: 200.25 lb. lost with TOPS Chapter: NC 0407 Gastonia Most of my life, I have hidden and ignored my true self. A few years ago, I came to a point when I realized that the pain of being unhealthy was greater than the pain of making the changes to get healthy! I was turning 40 and already showing signs of health problems. I lost my health and happiness. My choices were centered on how hidden I could stay. I realized that this one life I have is now, and I want it to be more. I had just gotten married and had a future to look forward to. I was introduced to TOPS by a family friend and had success that first year. I lost quite a bit and was a Division Winner. In the beginning of 2013, I made some additional shifts in my approach. I spent some focused time on my eating habits and on gathering what my body needs. I had to take all I had learned in my life and tailor it to what would work best for me. I began to implement ideas, and kept them up as they worked and shifted others.

I addressed how refined carbs affected my body and made the decision to limit them in my diet. I also added a regular exercise plan. Eventually, I also added a passionate love for vegetables. I dropped most of my weight at that time. I moved from: Can I do it? Should I do it, to: It is done! I became more aware of my intentions, aligning my choices with what I really want and decided that I am worth my life. I have worked on keeping off what I had already lost and continuing to lose to my goal. I work hard every day to learn and grow healthier. Being honored like this is a great gift and a wonderful milestone in my life. I am queen because I lost a lot of weight. But the truth is, we are all royalty. Every time we make a choice toward health, we are winning. I look forward to continuing to learn and make healthy choices every day. Read more Success Stories.
