A. The (pressed) wood seats that are manufactured are generally well made. Wood seats don't tend to "wiggle" much and should last 5 - 20 years (depends on usage and cleaning methods). If you drop the seat's lid (cover) a lot, the paint will wear off. Plastic seats come in many grades and thicknesses. The lower priced models have the potential of "wiggling" and may move slightly while you are sitting on them. We suggest that "if" you are going to purchase a plastic toilet seat, that you purchase a top quality slow closing seat with the sta-tight hinges for a little extra. The paint won't wear off and a good quality, slow closing plastic toilet seat with sta-tight hinges can't be beat. They're a little more expensive, but well worth the price. Q. "How accurate are the color examples you show for the seats?" A. Digital representations of colors will vary slightly from the actual color of the toilet seat (each computer monitor displays colors slightly different). Q. "My Eljer Emblem toilet is off-white, but I can't quite tell which color is right?

A.Matching colors is virtually impossible without seeing them both together, but we'll do our best to give you a few examples that may help. Biscuit is just slightly darker than pure white. We've heard it compared to an egg shell or raw bread dough. Natural color is darker than the Biscuit and looks more beige. Q. "How do I clean my new seat, and what products should I avoid?" A. Most manufacturers (and the manufacturer of the seats we offer) recommend a light solution of mild soap and water. Products like pine oils, essential oils, chlorine, acid, scouring powders, detergents, disinfectants, bleach, or products in aerosol cans should never be used as they can damage the finish and color of the seat. Also, as scouring pads can scratch the seat, they should not be used. It is our recommendation to always follow the manufacturers suggested cleaning methods to maintain the seats. Q. "How do I get the old toilet seat off?" A. On most seats, the bolts are mounted from the top with a nut on the underside of the bowl.
