I will agree it's a beautiful area and lots of good people live here, BUT there are a lot of people with nothing to lose there also... I've lived in the Forest in Marion County for over 20 years, but thanks for the "advice". As I stated earlier, there are sketchy people everywhere, the Forest hardly has a lock on them. As far as "having my panties in a wad", one can only suppose by that remark that you think posting a blog about a murder that happened 40 years ago is pertinent info for the present. 7,173 posts, read 8,452,246 times Originally Posted by kshe95girl Good Lord, have you even ever been to the Forest? So do LOTS of people. Stop with the misinformation, which is a blog. Yes, I've been there twice. We were not interested in looking at homes. We wanted to see the forest and an RV park there, off the main Rd. I have no idea how you live but almost every dwelling I saw was ramshackle. There where rundown tattered mobile homes. Ancient tucks and cars. It looked something like a 3rd world Nation. And to anyone who goes there, beyond the main roads, it's apparent that the area is perfect for squatters and who knows what else. Whoever goes through there would be better off staying on the main road "during the day only", and stay where other tourists and people are. If there are nice sections, homes, subdivisions,..I did not see them. We weren't there to look at homes/neighborhoods. Originally Posted by =^.. And tattered looking trailers, for that matter. That being said, I know all my neighbors, they are all lovely people, no matter how they live. 2,532 posts, read 3,851,557 timesIt isn't fair to judge someone by the outward appearance of a home. I previously lived in a mobile home for over 20 years near Ocala. I was happy and I feel that I am a well-adjusted, fair person. 15 posts, read 52,107 times Look back at the post that the 40 year old info was on. I didn't post that. Why are you so angry? I am quite aware that you didnt post that particular blog, I was asking you if you were ok with disinformation and fearmongering. Ignorance offends me, it doesnt make me angry. Sorry but that is not the kind of area I feel comfortable in. I was not raised that way.

Large Breed Puppies For Sale In MissouriBut others who haven't been constantly exposed to such dwellings tend to avoid those areas.
Seat Covers Made In Puerto RicoDid you live near ramshackle shacks? Why would we want to drive almost 800 miles to be next to such unsightly homesteads and people for the winter? And I didn't say nice homes and neighborhoods don't exist in the forest. If they do, we didn't come across any. All I saw was depressing grinding poverty. And the forest is an excellent place for squatters and other strange people. Before your panties get in a wad, I too lived in a MH for a few years until our house was built.

But it was clean and in excellent condition with no goats and garbage and dead cars on cinder blocks around it. No filthy or broken windows with curtains hanging out of them...... You didn't get very far as not all the information was 40 years old. Ooooohhhhhhhh, ad hominems in place of facts. BTW, is the goat comment a subtle dig at me? I havent ever seen places such as you describe, and I've been running around out here for over 20 years. You sure you didnt see that in a movie, because its the worst stereotyping possible. Tell us, who, exactly, is forcing you to spend your vacation in the Forest?
