Our work includes finding loving homes for pets, working to end pet overpopulation through spay/neuter efforts, canine obedience classes, and humane education opportunities for children. He was raised in Atascadero and lived with his family for 8 years until they moved and could not take him along. James had his front claws removed so he needs to be an indoor only cat. At 8 years old, he also qualifies as a senior cat and is available for adoption to a senior person (55 or older) at no charge. James is affectionate and enjoys being groomed or just hanging out. 2 Inch Blinds Parts About the North County Humane Society The North County Humane Society was founded as Action for Animal's Rights in 1977, and moved to its current location in Atascadero in 1997. NCHS runs a “no kill” cat shelter, and the organization’s goals are to prevent animal homelessness and over population. The cat adoption center is open Tuesday through Saturday, and additional programs are available for spay/neuter, feral trapping, microchipping, and homeless kittens.
