A summary of the main changes in the revised standard are:• The definition of lounger has been expanded.• The requirements for loungers have been moved from the annex and are now contained within the standard in table 1 of clause 6. The table includes new test requirements for loungers.• New permanent labelling requirement for loungers equipped with wheels, but not intended to be lifted and moved with a person on it.• The Testing sequence and parameters for other seating types are now located in table 2 in the revised standard.• All references to EN 1728:2000 have been amended to EN 1728:2012. All conflicting national standards must be withdrawn by May 2016.EN581-2:2015 is not harmonized under the European General Product Safety Directive, however European standard EN581-1:2006 Outdoor furniture — Seating and tables for camping, domestic and contract use — General safety requirements is harmonized.
