Poland won't be like Germany, because nobody is like Germany.
Germany is the 4th largest economy in the world, while it's population is only 17th. It's not only a bigger power than Poland, it's a bigger power than the 4 other European countries in it's size "league" - France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy.Written Depends what one means "like Germany". Obviously 40-M Poland (population) cannot be "like" 80+M Germany. People are the single most important asset. But if "like" means "same level wrt population size" we have a fair shot at it. Until Fall 2015 pretty much any prognostic was indicating the curves of Poland and Germany crossing within a generation (into the future). We are currently probably about 25 years behind in multiple categories, but this gap is being incrementally reduced. Some other answers were for example raising the work ethic issues ("Poles are lazy"). Well, Poles work on average more hours than Germans (second highest in the world after Koreans I believe, or something like this). So this "lazy" stereotype is not clear, but obviously Germans are still, on average, more efficient workers.
But again, "German worker" is a VERY high standard, and Poland has a good luck to have this standard over the border to compare against.Anyway, between 30 and 50% of export goods "made in Germany" are actually made in Poland. Huge scale of cooperation. "German quality", you know. And this goes with high-tech sector in part as well. I will spare you the usual (for any country) touting of accomplishments, "this product" or "this field" being the leaders in. Wholesale Blush Prom DressesWe have own share of such "hallmarks", like most countries. Wood Flooring KuwaitEnough to be a contender, while being realistic - we do have work for about a generation to catch up, in multiple areas, as I wrote. Satin Infant Car Seat CoversBut the "catching up" had been mostly smooth so far.
Right now it seems there is a hiccup with a current (since Fall 2015) government. Different values being pursued it seems. We will see how this plays out.Updated No.There are some problems with Poland:Polish language is the hardest language in the world to learn and is not a very popular language in Europe (like French, English and German) for historical reasons.  Pols are not open minded. They are afraid and doubtful about foreigners. There are also far-right ultra nationalists who beat foreigners on the streets. That is not very encouraging for qualified foreigners to immigrate to Poland and contribute to the Polish economy. [2] Recently a lot of these bastards started to stop strangers on the streets to ask them whether they are Muslims or refugees. What douche bags they are !Quality of higher education is very low. As a result, The rankings of Polish universities are not very high in the world. Research and development is not very encouraging. For instance, Poland is far behind in R&D than the neighboring Czech Republic.
Every change in Poland takes time. Pols are not very used to with sudden change. While that is good in certain situations (like, not being prone to sudden demise), that is also bad for sudden rise. For instance, while Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary has stopped using USSR-made fighter jets. Poland still use USSR-era Mig-29s and Sukhoi-22s. As a nation, Pols are not aggressive and offensive (you can consult Polish history). They are always content with their situation. That is not a good feature to be a regional power.Males are very lazy. Polish economy mostly depends on females.Footnotes[1] Hardest language to learn[2] Chilean pianist beaten in Poland after being mistaken for Arab[3] QS World University Rankings® 2015/16[4] Research and development expenditure (% of GDP)[5] Polish Air ForceCeramic Bathroom & Outdoor Ceiling Light | The bathroom ceiling light offers protection against dust and splashing water - it's rated to IP54.
