These dogs often tend to have loose facial skin, though not as wrinkled as the shar pei. These dogs generally have an even, protective, loving temperament which they inherit from their parents. However, it shouldn’t be forgotten that their Sharpei parents also have a crude side. If they take mostly to the sharpei side, they might at times be independent, dominant, alert, lordly and brave. Like their parents, they would try to protect their family members. They are emotionally responsive, loving, smart and kind.  Though they are not aggressive to strangers, but would warn-bark if they come across intruders, strange noises or anything suspicious. Thus they make a good watchdog as well. They are good with kids and other pets provided they get the right training, and at the right age. This intelligent dog is ready to please you. However, in return, they would expect some attention and affection from their loved ones.  They can adapt and establish itself very easily with family life, and thus makes a good apartment dog. Because they are average to large-sized dogs, the Lab Pei needs a pretty good amount of daily exercise.
They need lots of physical activity all day, and a spacious apartment is always good for them. Their exercise requirements can be fulfilled through long walks and jogging. Because they have a short coat, the grooming requirement for these dogs is moderate to easy. Brush them once to twice a week so as to retain the natural glow. Also, note whether your dog does not enjoy water like its sharpei parent.
In that case, bathe it very rarely, may be once a year, if you think they are really untidy and in need for one. Dogs with wrinkles are susceptible to skin infections. If your pet has some wrinkles, cleaning them regularly by wiping the folds with a moist cloth. Rest of the grooming part, including nail-trimming or brushing teeth, are similar to other pet dogs. Though these dogs are intelligent enough to pick instructions, commands and training easily, but if your dog has taken to the sharpei’s demeanor, it might show up independent, or apparently obstinate, nature. This might tend to make them disobey the trainer. In that case, a very firm hand, and some good amount of patience is required for it to be trained. If your dog finds you not strong enough to be its pack leader, it’s likely that it will take over as the boss. You can consult a professional trainer the moment you find your dog displays the slightest behavioral issue. Give them socialization and housebreaking trainings from the time you bring them home from the breeders.
Train the puppies consistently and with firm hands. Praise your dog or give them treats whenever it finds success or displays obedience. Your dog has lots of energy and hence, needs a healthy diet that would provide it with optimal nutrition. Stick to the same routine diet like the other large-sized dogs with the same energy levels. If you would go for dry foods like kibbles, be sure that you stick to quality and that, you are providing it with the right quantity of food.Ben the Labrador Retriever / Pitbull Terrier mix at 15 months old Find a Labrabull Breeder The Labrabull is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the American Pit Bull Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in any of the breeds in the hybrid. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. Moose the Pit Bull / Labrador mix (Labrabull) at 8 years old
Boomer the Labrabull (Pitbull / Labrador mix) at 10 months old Millie the Labrabull (Pitbull / Labrador mix) at 2 years old Ben the Labrador Retriever / Pitbull Terrier mix at 15 months old Max the Labrador Retriever / Pitbull mix at 1 year old "This is Titan, our yard statue. He is a seven-year-old Pit Bull / Lab mix and is the biggest baby you’ll ever meet! He loves to play with his pink Care Bear and sit on the edge of the front porch watching cars and people go by." "My dog is Solo; she is a Pitbull / Lab mix, shown here at 1 year old. I got her when she was 10 weeks old from a rescue shelter where she was born. - VERY playful with a lot of energy - tries to befriend almost any animal (cats, dogs, lizards, rabbits etc) - very friendly with people, children and elderly (jumps a little when young, but never has on children)—even very gentle around newborns and infants - LOVES the water and snow - not good for small apartment life
- will bark if something is heard in nighttime, or if there is a knock at the door, but not a big barker - VERY easily trained, LOVES to do tricks for treats, smart! (not many puppy problems—housetrained in 2 days) - sheds normal amount - high pain tolerance, and strong (and FAST!) -comedian dog, likes to make you laugh - has only become protective when another dog tried to fight our Jack Russell; other than that she loves all other dogs. - at 1 year old she weighs about 55 lbs. - her brothers and sisters were black, black and white, tan, grey and brown -very affectionate, shows most affection toward owner rather than everyone." "This is my best friend Eli. He's about 9 months in this picture. His mother is a chocolate Lab and his father is a Pit Bull. I'm not sure where those crazy ears came from, but they're his most charming feature. Eli has made me a former Pit Bull-a-phobe (yeah, I made that term up). I was one of those people that insisted Pit Bulls were mean by nature.
Nothing could be further from the truth. I used to have a purebred yellow Lab, the prototypical "family" dog. Eli has all the legendary Labrador energy, intelligence and love of life, combined with an unbelievably sweet, affectionate disposition and tons of loyalty that my old "family" dog never had. He's a great watchdog too—very alert and on top of things when strangers come around, yet he'll immediately relax and go into good doggie mode the instant he gets the sense from me that this person is okay. I won't deny there are plenty of wonderful breeds out there, but when asked, I recommend the Labrabull every time. He likes a lot of exercise and loves walks, especially when I can let him off his leash to run. The bottom line: Best... Eli the Labrabull as a puppy "This is Zeus, our Pitador (American Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever mix). He is a little under a year old in this picture. He has the hunting instinct of a Lab, and he keeps us laughing at all times. We rescued him when he was 3 months old."
"Sheba is a 1-year-old Chocolate Lab / Pitbull mix. I have four children and her temperament is wonderful. She has and will always be part of the family."I have had her since she was a 3-month-old puppy. She loves all other animals. We play ball a lot. She also plays with our cat or Trixie, my other dog that is a terrier mix. She gets along well with anyone because she has been well socialized. Sheba has turned out to be one of the best dogs I've ever had. She listens well and I can take her for walks with or without a leash. She is overall great and a very beautiful dog. I always get compliments on how beautiful she is." "Baby is a Pit Bull / Labrador retriever mix, shown here at 1 year old. She is the sweetest thing. There is not an ounce of mean in this sweet Baby. She was rescued from an abusive home." "Jade is a Pit Bull / Lab mix, shown here at 6 years old. She was a rescue and has been with us since she was 9 months. She is loving and just wants to be with her humans.
What a love bug!" "This is our dog Crush. He has a very good temperament; he is good around dogs and kids. When he goes swimming he has to give all the little kids kisses! He is about two years old. His birthday is in September. He likes to lie in your lap or take up all of the blanket." Holly the Labrabull (Labrador Retriever / Pitbull hybrid dog) at 8 months old—"This is Holly, she's a Pitbull / lab cross and this is at 8 months. She was rescued from a California puppy mill when she was 1 day away from getting put down. As soon as I saw her I fell in love and she has been my best friend ever since (she follows me around like a shadow). She loves everyone and other dogs, especially ones that are way, way bigger than her. We like to go on long walks every day since her favorite thing is to run and explore. She is a loyal, sweet tempered dog." Holly the Labrabull (Labrador Retriever / Pitbull hybrid dog) at 8 months old Holly the Labrabull (Labrador Retriever / Pitbull hybrid dog) at 8 months old—"She loves to get snuggled up in her bed!"
She is a Pit / Lab mix. Her mother is a Pitbull and her father is a Lab. In this picture Jade is about 10 weeks old. At this time Jade already knew how to sit, stay and lie. She loves to play and jump on new people when they come into the house, but she is generally calm and a good dog. She listens very well to commands. Jade goes for about an hour walk a day and when she comes in she goes right to sleep. I believe that her first love is food. The minute the food is put into her bowl it disappears and she spends the rest of the day on a quest for more, until her next feeding. Jade is very loving and is already showing signs of loyalty. On walks she always stays close when passing animals, she does not act aggressively toward them when they come near. I try to use Caesar's tricks when walking her to attempt to prevent her from pulling me on the leash, but it has not yet been a success. She is just too excited when we are on walks. I was afraid of Pit Bulls before jade but she is showing me how loving they can be.
She loves to cuddle and kiss, and if you don't volunteer kisses she will definitely sneak one. She catches everyone's eye when we walk and is always complimented on how beautiful she is. Jade does not have many dislikes; right now she just loves everything."She just turned a year old when this picture was taken. She is a Pit Bull / chocolate Lab mix. My husband and I adopted her when she was 5 months old. Her previous owners had her chained in the backyard and wanted to give her to a good home as they couldn’t give her the care that she needed. She knows our basic commands and obeys very well when commanded. She is the most gentle and submissive dog I have seen. She loves to play with our cat and any other dog she comes in contact with. She loves the water and discovered this winter that she loves the snow even more. She is very, very strong. Everyone loves her but I have started to see the stigma surrounding the Pit Bull breed. People come up to me and say how cute and sweet she is but when they ask what she is and I say part Pit Bull, they shy away.
