Best for the $$ First off, heavy as a brick. Was surprised it was so heavy..so make sure you have good sturdy supports to hang it up. Around 7lbs per the UPS label. (You may want to buy the grow light hangers for easy height adjustment, just need 1). But heavy is good and means its not cheap, the cheap LED`s are light as air. Second, ITS VERY VERY BRIGHT.. like hurt your eyes bright... I guess in allot of ways like the sun, which = good for plants. Fan makes a bit of noise but not too much. Can always be swapped out if need be.. Ive had it on a couple hours so far and no hot air coming out which is good. Ive had hydrofarm CFL lights before this, and the old style incandescent bulbs.. CFL`s are like any fluorescent light really, kind of whitish in hue. this has a multi colored spectrum which i foresee to much more beneficial to my plant. And HOPEFULLY the led`s wont burn out.. Ive heard Mars Hydro`s customer service is excellent, next step up in LED grow lights from the high end manufacturers are hundreds of dollars... was a no brainer to get one of these..

Great LED grow like for the price. This is an awesome LED grow light for a great price. Since the day I've switched to the Mars Hydro 300w LED light I've had explosive grown in my plants! Stays cool to the touch and only effects room temperature a few degrees. The only downside is the fixture is pretty directional, there's only an effective light spread of 1.5 ft so you better get two if you have more than one plant! NOT ONLY DID I RECEIVE THIS PRODUCT FASTER THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD, I WAS VERY SURPRISED AT THE OVERALL QUALITY OF THE EQUIPMENT! THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING AN LED LIGHT. MY PLANTS HAVE RESPONDED BETTER AND FASTER THAN OTHER LIGHTS I HAVE USED. IT WAS ALMOST TOO POWERFUL, I HAD TO PULL MY PLANTS BACK FARTHER THAN NORMAL TO PREVENT LEAF SCORCH. NOW MY PLANTS ARE HEALTHY LOOKING AND TAKING OFF LIKE MAD! TOPLEDFACTORYSTORE HAS SUPERIOR PRODUCTS FOR PLANT GROWING! I WILL VERY LIKELY BUY MORE IN THE FUTURE IF IT DOES WELL THIS GROWING PERIOD. THE QUALITY IS AMAZING!

HOPEFULLY MY PLANTS WILL BE ALSO! TAKE CARE, ALLEN P puts out good light...but very small coverage area...low heat or no heat hardly... good for very small grow..only reason might be worth it is if space is very limited and heat is a problem...another 20 bucks and get a HPS bulb that covers 4 times the area...but if space is limited this might work.. havent had it long enough to give better review.. This light is amazing! I think I may get one just for tomatoes and then I might finally be totally happy or perhaps I might need a couple more Harvest for flowers.....addictive but so enjoyable!!! As others have said, results are great, but most impressive is using it for seed starting. The original styrofoam insert was good, but the new 50 plant starter kit made from the same plastic as the bowl is awesome...much easier to clean and the pods slide out without damaging the roots. Don't start seeds too early though...this is FAST! I planted cherry tomato seeds on March 24....the plants emerged in 2-4 days, and I had to start transplanting them into pots on April 10 because the roots were starting to tangle. On day 27, the plants were 6" tall with 21" of well developed roots. Even if I didn't love my Aerogarden for the year round herbs and veggies I can grow, it's worth it just for its seed starting prowess. My favorite of all the aerogardens--good price, great flexibility, easy to maintain, and wonderful results, whether I'm starting seedlings/cuttings in the starter tray or growing on selected plants using the 7-pod system. After testing for pH and dissolved solids, I've found that my well water is fine to use..

My only serious problem has been aphid infestations which I keep at bay with regular washing of the plants and the aerogarden itself. Petunias, dill, basil, lettuce, and dwarf tomatoes have all grown very well--I'm looking forward to having herbs and lettuce year round (despite summer heat) and perhaps peppers and eggplants too! I'm now up to six Extras as well as two Bountys and two Harvests--and I will need all of them in use as I make plans for off-season vegetables and flowers! I have had mine for 3 weeks now and enjoyed a good share of herbs already. My 8 year old granddaughter set it up, so there is proof of ease! I am so happy with it that I am ordering my sisters each one of the Sprout plus for them to get hooked! Customer service is GREAT and I look forward to ordering the seed starter for my garden this coming spring! Great products my tomatoes are all blooming 6 of them my hot peppers are about 4 inches height I have new areo garden led coming tomorrow and another one coming from Amazon on Thursday.

I also ordered 2 sweet peppers from Walmart. And I am still using the small SL for 3 hot peppers. These things are great. Lower cost w/no LCD but full height with 30 watt LED. System is as easy to use and get going as advertised. I had my first harvest (maybe 1g lettuce) within 3 weeks. Taste of end product is excellent, when you bite in you KNOW it's full of good stuff. Power use is reasonable given the power output of the light fixture. Customer service is excellent. THe system is flexible, growing a TON of different stuff is possible. Attractive design, was happy to move stuff around an empty dining room to get optimum conditions (i.e. no excessive sunlight) There's no substitute for experience, I still found myself with a lot of questions during my first grow cycle especially with the aero bowl. They should just tell customers to opt for distilled water right away. Initial cost is high but if you've never gardened before the peace of mind is worth it.

Four days after a simple to follow set-up, my mega cherry tomato plants had grown half way up into the grow domes. There were three sprouts in each grow pod. After removing the grow domes, according to directions, I reluctantly trimmed away two of the three sprouts in each pod. Now, just over two weeks since set up, my two tomato plants are over 4 inches high and growing like crazy! It feels silly to say but my main complaint about the Aerogarden Extra LED is that it works too well. I bought this hoping to have a few herbs available whenever the desire for pesto or mojitos or salsa stuck. Within two weeks I had herbs growing like crazy - using fresh herbs almost daily and filling all the dried herbs I could possibly need. At 4 months, my inital planting is still producing. I feel like I have wasted so much production, I would advise another user to plant only a couple of items unless they are positive they want that much bounty. for the next planting, we will start 4 lettuce and 3 herbs for a much better balance.

This is one of my best purchases ever. I am so happy to have herbs and lettuce always available. I've never had a green thumb, but Aerogarden Extra LED has made indoor gardening extra easy! It was extra easy to set up simply by following the step-by-step instructions included, and there is practically no maintenance required except for adding water and liquid nutrients every 2 wekks! My salad greens started sprouting up after only 3 days! Now after only a little over 2 weeks my salad greens are almost ready to harvest and all of my herbs are coming up as well! My cherry tomatoes started sprouting up after only 2 days! Now every time I walk by my Aerograden I am so pleased to see my salad greens as they seem to practically grow an inch overnight! I am very happy with my Aerogarden Extra LED and feel that it was definitely a wise investment to make. In fact, I may just have to purchase another one so I can have one for my herbs and one for my indoor vegetable garden! At first I was not sure if I should spend the money or not, but it is a great investment!!!!
