Although there is potential for loss, caring for a child in need of a family and home is not about protecting your own heart, but rather helping to heal theirs. One of the main ways Lexi was able to grow and heal from all the hurt that she experienced as well as the trauma was through the patient and consistent love... she experienced not only from the Page’s but also the other members of the extended family. There was no hidden agenda, no one expecting anything from a little girl who had been so confused in her short life, just an opportunity to love and allow her to love in return on her time table. Lounge Furniture Rental Sacramento CaBy the time this picture was taken, Lexi had grown to not only accept, but build special and unique relationships with the many members of the people she saw and proudly called her family. At this particular family event, Lexi along with one of her cousins proudly walked down the isle of their Uncle Spencer and soon to be Aunti Alisha’s wedding as their flower girls.
This was just one of the many special moments that will forever be a part of Lexi’s life and something she will not forget. Lori Alvino McGill, the Pages' attorney has released this comment about today's ruling. "The Pages are obviously extremely disappointed with the court's decision, but they believe in our judicial system and remain hopeful that they will ultimately prevail. As a mother, it is very difficult for me to fathom what the Pages, and Lexi, are going through right now. We remain focuse...d on Lexi's rights under the law, which supports her being reunited with her family in California. For months she anticipated the arrival. The bigger mommy's tummy got, the more excited she was. She would tell her friends and even random strangers that she had a baby sibling on the way. July 6th, 2013 was a very special day for Lexi. She was thrilled when she found out the baby was a girl and mommy and daddy had picked Zoey Elliott as the name. In the three years that followed, Lexi was a big helper: changing diaper...s, singing songs, "sush'ing" peacefully and doing all that a big sister does. Last year the Page's went to Grand Lake, Colorado to celebrate the 4th of July & Zoey's birthday.
