Beginning July 15, 2015, the Department will begin requiring some third party inspections for some HVAC and electrical permits. Please visit the Construction and Permits page to learn more. The list is organized by permit number and does not necessarily correspond to the review order. If your permit is not on the list, it is being currently reviewed, revisions have been requested or has been approved. Please contact 412-255-2175 with any questions. All permits applications, including previsions, are reviewed in the order in which they are submitted to PLI. The general timeframe for reviews are as follows: Residential Applications - reviewed within approximately 15 business days. Commercial Applications - initial applications are reviewed within approximately 30 business days, revisions are reviewed within approximately 15 business days.

After an application is reviewed, the individual listed as the applicant on the PLI application form will be contacted to either request revisions or notify of approval. Approved Vacant Vending Sites The City of Pittsburgh now maintains a list of approved fixed vending locations available for Stationary Vendors. Please be aware that effective immediately interior demolition work will require a building permit for all residential and commercial buildings and structures. PLI's public offices (and the adjacent zoning offices on the third floor) are open from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Inspectors are available in the office from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and are in the field for the remainder of the day.
