Yes, you will need both rings and hooks. I looked at * videos to see how it is done and how far to space the hooks. These curtains do not have "grommets" in them for rings. But I think you can purchase rings with a mechanism to hook to the curtain. I used the tiny Ikea hooks which I would not recommend. They were hard to do. But the curtains are beautiful. Mine are on a rod, but yes you do need both....you'll love them ! If you want that look than yes you will need the hooks and rings to get that affect. ou need both. I'm not sure what your asking. I simply added rings that clamp on to the curtains themselves. (I bought mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond) The rings add. about 1to 2 inches to the length of the curtains and gives the pooling that is shown in the picture. I am very pleased with these curtains. ut I would think on a gentle cycle and hang they would do well. I washed them on hand wash cycle in cold water and hung them to dry. When dry I used my steamer to take out the wrinkles. T The description says dry clean only but I agree with the other comment put them on a gentle/delicate cycle with cold water and you should be fine. I sew with different types of fabric all the time and can usually gauge if it could withstand a gentle wash. I would "air dry" not placing it in the dryer you run the risk of it losing it's shape.
