I read your book The Lost Art of Dress, and fell in love with it! ...even considering reading it for the second time! I have recently developed an interest in fashion and designing, and was wondering if you can direct me to any resources for beginners. Thanks!- InemHi, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the book. As for going into fashion and design, if you are thinking professionally, read Elizabeth Hawes Fashion is Spinach, an old book, really old, but one which warns about the difficulties of the business. /certification-program#MSDPYou won’t need all the books, but check them out of your public library and decide which ones will be most useful before you buy any of them. This certification program is for those who want to become master dressmakers, but it tells you a lot about technique and drafting.

If there is a fashion school near you, check out what they assign to their courses in their bookstore. I discovered a lot of interesting books while in NYC visiting the FIT bookstore. I hope this helps. Fall 2016 Pantone Fashion Color Report Not that you have to wear these colors, but this may forecast may explain why you keep seeing clothes in these colors all over the place.

I’ve had these vintage posters in my “Projects” folder for so long even the shop on Etsy that was selling them is no longer there. The irony of that is not lost on me. Part of the reason I kept putting off making these was because I’m a snob, and I wanted these poster to fit my aesthetic. I knew this involved painting over parts of them in Photoshop, which took forever when I finally got round to it. Hence the putting off. Anyway, so here are 14 vintage 1950’s sewing patterns by Atelier Fogra, on Ohbehave’s Framed Poster mesh. It can be found under Decorative > Wall Hangings, and costs §139. I really recommend you download the add-on frames available from the original thread, by the way, for more variety :3 Mesh is included for convenience. Files have been compressed; a swatch can be viewed here. The swatch is included in the .zip so you can keep the ones you like! There are a few bits from the store that I have included in the folder for you. The only 3rd party CC I used is a pattern by peacemaker-ic. It’s also included in the folder, I’d head over to their page and grab all their patterns anyway because they’re great! You’ll obviously need the Uni EP for this one. 14 March 2014 ♥ 423 notes reblogged from plumb-resources source: simmenycricket Have a look at this great article that gives you the history of some of the chairs featured in this set.

You can take a look at this if you want to see the full-size image. There will be a second one of these as I left out several living chairs I have that would fit the style. Also I think this preview style looks a lot better, thoughts?
